Puglian Fusilli, Italian durum wheat semolina pasta
Fusilli originated in central-northern Italy and owe their name to the spindle (fuso), around which wool was once wound.
Their shape is characterized by three twisted fins that harmoniously intertwine in a spiral, capturing every type of sauce.
You can't go wrong with Fusilli: they enhance both elaborate and rich sauces as well as simpler and more delicate ones, always guaranteeing an excellent dish even when simply dressed with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and grated Parmesan cheese.
The intense aroma of the grain will be released during cooking, making you fall in love with this pasta shape.
Fusilli perfectly adapt to rich meat or ricotta-based sauces, but they also reveal their multifaceted personality in fresh pasta salads: chopped vegetables, spices, and tuna slip harmoniously between their spirals, accompanied by the velvety notes of Puglian olive oil added raw.
